about
I wrote this song in 2019. Flowers In My Mind is about people who live in a bubble. They prefer to stay in lies and self-deception when faced with the reality of this world. I think this song can be about each of us, because everyone has a moment in life when you are afraid to look at some things really and it's easier for you to stay in illusions. But only alone with yourself, listening to the whispers inside yourself, you can change this.
P. s. I recorded the keys part you can hear in the bridge on my phone at my grandmother's house. An old Soviet piano was used for the recording.
lyrics
[Chorus]
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
[Verse 1]
Oh, people always think how to hide themselves
They hide behind the truth that has long since grown stale
They say "my heart is so big and ready to help"
But when the time comes we learn that it’s just for sale
[Chorus]
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
[Verse 2]
I’ll take it all back if my dear you want to live your lie
You wanna pull back seeing tears and trials of your life
The will is so weak and desire is not enough to change
You play hide and seek with the fire, oh, you should turn the page, but…
[Bridge]
Silence
Thoughts
It’s like a whisper
They need to tell you something
(Thorns)
But you don’t hear, cause
[Chorus]
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
Flowers in my mind
But after roses I prefer the lie
